Our Brimpaen correspondent writes :—The late Mr. Wm. [William] Curtis, whose death was briefly reported in last Friday's issue, was an old identity of Brimpaen. In 1901 he came to Glenisla and built two chimneys at the Glenisla homestead for the late Mr. Carter. Later he went to Brim Springs station, then owned by Mr T. R. Elliot; and made extensive alterations to the homestead, sheds and stables. He followed the occupation of a carpenter, bricklayer and tinsmith. With the departure of Mr. Elliot from Brim Springs, deceased went to Mr. Kuhne, at Burnt Creek, where he worked for some time. Finally, on account of his health, he entered the Horsham Base Hospital, where he remained for several years up to the time of his death. He was well known throughout the district.
