Keith William Anderson  (1916-1965) carpenter and Labor politician 

Birth: 23 October 1916 at Eurobodalla, New South Wales son of native-born parents Peter Orlando Anderson (1885-1950), labourer, and Ethel Christina, née Phillips (1885-1960). Marriage: 1 February 1946 to Kathleen Hough. They had one son. Death: 27 November 1965 at Concord, New South Wales. Religion: Methodist. 

  • Carpenter with Maritime Services Board.
  • Served in the 2nd Australian Imperial Forces (2nd AIF) in the Middle East and New Guinea, 1940 – 1945.
  • President of Bridge, Wharf and Engineering Construction Carpenters' Union for eight years. Later was a patrolman.
  • Member of Waverley-Bondi Junction branch of the Returned Services League of Australia.
  • Alderman at Waverley from 1957 until 1962, mayor from 1957 until 1958.
  • 25 February 1961 elected in by-election for Paddington-Waverley, in NSW Legislative. Assembly, for the balance of the term of W. J. Ferguson. Seat was abolished in 1962. Anderson failed to obtain pre-selection for Bligh.
  • Recreational interests include being active in local sporting organisations.
  • Later his wife and son Peter were members of the NSW Legislative Assembly.
