George Stacher Archer. Birth: 4 April 1881, Launceston, Tas. Son of Richard Frederick Archer, tin miner, & Mary Ann nee Hagon. Married: Elise Letitia Cosker, 28 December 1904. 1 son, 1 daughter. Death: 8 August 1956, Sydney. Church of England.
Union official. Educated at Hobart, working in furniture trade as upholsterer from 1907. 1908, joined Furnishing Trades Society in Sydney. 1910, appointed to union board of management. Vice-President, 1914; President, 1916-1918; Organising Secretary from c.1920. Delegate to NSW Labor Council and ALP. ALP - held office in Carlton Branch, Barton, Hurstville and St George electoral councils. NSW MLC, December 1925-April 1949. 1950, NSW Masonic Club.
