The death occurred at his son's residence, at Kogarah, on Tuesday, of Mr. Thomas Gummersall Armfleld, in his 80th year. He is survived by a son and two daughters. A native of England, Mr. Armfield came to Australia when he was four years of age, and settled with his parents in Adelaide. Later he moved to Melbourne, and about 40 years ago made his home in Sydney. A coach smith by trade, he was secretary of the Sydney Coachbuilders' Union for a number of years, and also occupied the position of president of the Sydney Trades and Labour Council. He contested Randwick against the late Mr. David Storey many years ago, and went to Queensland about 1904, when he was elected Labour member for Musgrove, which seat he held for six years.

The funeral took place on Wednesday, the interment being in the Church of England portion of the Northern Suburbs Cemetery. The Rev. E. Potter read the burial service.
