Walter Percy Beeson (1903- 1983) trade union secretary 

Birth: 21 August 1903 at Bacton, Norfolk, England, son of Thomas Beeson, naval officer, and Hannah Maria, née Whitehouse. Marriage: 1934 in Merrigum, Victoria, to Margaret Jean Andrews. They had two daughters and a son. Death: 26 September 1983 at Reservoir, Victoria. 

  • Arrived in Australia about 1927.
  • 1940 joined Australasian Society of Engineers (ASE). April 1947 became organiser of ASE Victorian Branch and later its assistant secretary and secretary. Later again stood in as federal secretary, and was federal vice-president in 1965-68.
  • Held office in Apprenticeship Commission, Local Trades Committee, Victorian Wages Board and Melbourne Trades Hall Council.
