Walter Patrick (Wally) Evans (1889–1949)

This entry is from Obituaries Australia

The Labor Movement lost a lifetime supporter and worker when Mr. Wally Evans died suddenly in Sydney on Saturday, August 6.

Injuries suffered in the first World War caused his death at the age of 59.

Mr. Evans recently spent many weeks in the 113th AGH and the Lady Gowrie Convalescent Hospital suffering from heart trouble.

When the Labor Party split early in the recent war on the "Hands off Russia" issue, Wally remained true to the cause of humanity and the working class and became organising secretary of the State Labor Party led by Mr. J. R. Hughes.

During the past few years he had been living in retirement at Terrigal.

He was cremated at Rookwood on Monday.
