The death occurred in Melbourne on July 7 of Mr. Joseph Everett, the Australasian representative of Messrs. Rowntree & Co., of York, England. Mr. Everett, who was well known all over Australia, was a prominent member of the Society of Friends, a strong advocate of temperance reform, and a staunch supporter of the peace movement. He was 67 years of age. The funeral was largely attended, and among the mourners were Mr. R. J. Craigie (Fry and Co., Bristol), W. Clark (Cadbury Bros., Bourneville), J. A. Rinder (Hudd & Sons), Fetherstone (Walton & Co.), and L. Parkes (Crawford & Co.).
