Sydney Temple (Syd) Green (1866–1945)

Mr. Sydney Temple Green, aged 78 years, a pioneer of the Australian Labour Party, died at his home in Knox Street, Clovelly, yesterday morning.

For the past nine years he had been a member of the Church of England Synod.

More than 50 years ago Mr. Green was a member of the first A.L.P. branch, Balmain, and for five years sat on the A.L.P. Central Executive. He was a past president of the Clovelly Labour League and the old Eastern Suburbs Electorate Council. He contested the Wentworth seat in the Federal elections in 1914. Mr. Green's wife, who was formerly a member of the Legislative Council, and a grown-up family, survive. The funeral will leave St. Luke's Church of England, Clovelly, at 10.30 am. to-day for the Randwick Cemetery.
