Cornelius (Con) Hogan (1867–1933)

Mr. Cornelius Hogan, well-known in the Labor Movement, died on Saturday morning at his home, Burns Road, St. John's Park, Cabramatta, aged 63.

Mr. Hogan was an organiser for the A.W.U. in his earlier life, and took an active part in the anti-conscription campaign. At one time he stood as a candidate for the Gloucester seat in the Labor interests.

He joined the United Laborers in 1900, and became president in the same year. Later he was elected delegate to the 8-hour Committee, the Sydney Labor Council, and the A.L.P. Conference, a position he held for nine consecutive years. He contested the Goulburn seat in 1917. He was an alderman on the Redfern Council, representing the Golden Grove Ward from 1911 to 1917.

A widow and family survive.

The funeral will take place to-day leaving his late residence at 2 p.m., for the Catholic Cemetery No. 2, Rookwood.
