We regret to have to announce the death of Mr. Thomas Scott, who lately was appointed to a permanent position at the Trades Hall. Mr. Scott was a prominent and well-known Laborite, having held the positions of President T.L.C. and President P.L.C.. and was also an active member of the Plasterers' Union. Tom, although a robust-looking man, had been suffering from a complication of illnesses, and finally succumbed on Friday last to an attack of thrombosis whilst being treated at the Melbourne Hospital. His remains were followed to the place of interment, Spring Vale Cemetery, last Sunday, by a large number of prominent members of the T.H.C., Eight Hours Committee, P.L.C., and Plasterers' Union. There was also a number of parliamentarians present, including Mr. G. M. Prendergast, M.L.A., leader State Labor party. Mr. Scott leaves a widow and six young children to mourn his loss.
