Mr. Ernest Yardley, who recently died at Wonthaggi, was well-known in Korumburra district. Mr. Yardley went to Wonthaggi from Outtrim in the tent days, where he built up a fine hairdressing and tobacconist business, which was always under his personal supervision. For years he was the treasurer of the Victorian Coal Miners' Association, and first took office in the Union after the big strike at Outtrim in 1904. The funeral took place to the Wonthaggi cemetery.
